Welcome to Our Mississippi Magazine website. We like to tout Our Mississippi Magazine as Mississippi’s only statewide, multicultural magazine. By multicultural, we mean that our content is inclusive of Mississippi’s entire population of nearly three million. We cover the entire magnolia state, from the beaches of Biloxi to the flat lands of the Delta.
Our content, not only is directed as mainstream Mississippi, but also focuses on the over one million blacks in the state; the well over 80,000 Hispanic/Latinos; the 25,000 plus Asian population, as well as the American-Indian population that inhabit our great state. Reaching that variety of an audience is what separates Our Mississippi Magazine from anyone else and creates a great opportunity for advertisers.
Our Mississippi magazine was established in the fall of 2011 and is published by Legend Publishing Company, LLC. The magazine is based out of Tupelo, MS. with offices opening in 2015 in Jackson. Wesley Wells is the publisher with consultation from magazine expert, Dr. Samir Husni.
Filling a great void, Dr. Husni calls Our Mississippi Magazine “one of the best magazine ideas in the southeast“.
The main content of Our Mississippi Magazine deals with business, diversity, health, education and tourism. The magazine deals a lot with major Mississippi corporations such as Nissan and Toyota. We publish articles that are of great interest to business professionals and entrepreneurs. If you’re looking to get healthy, Our Mississippi Magazine could be a great resource for you. We are always looking to publish articles that make for a healthier Mississippi.
One thing we’ve realized is that Mississippi does have an image problem sometimes. That is one of the main objectives with our magazine – fighting those old stereotypes. Mississippi has continued to progress and we’re going to help it grow and prosper with a positive message of a diverse state that is willing to shed its past history for something better.
